I went to a chinese herbalist with a medical problem. I liked her holistic approach.
Her diagnosis (”blocked energies”) was spot on.
But the treatment although quite effective was impractical and inconvenient.
She prescribed bags of dried herbs, one to be boiled each day to produce a pint of foul tasting liquid to be drunk each day.
When I initially protested she offered me a tablets option but the variety and quantity of pills was so vast that I would have been downing pills 24/7 plus she said fresh herbs were more effective (as well as cheaper) and it was easier to make up a prescription to my specific requirements.
I gave up after one week.
But the results were quite promising..
What I want to know is whether uk herbalism
1. takes the same integrated approach.
2. Is as effective in diagnosis, but
3. More practical in treatment.
What forms do prescriptions take?
